Volunteers Sought for Community Speed Watch

Are you fed up with speeding vehicles in your community? Could you spare an hour a week to help tackle this issue and are aged 18 or over?

Police are looking to set up new Community Speed Watch (CSW) schemes in all areas of Broxtowe North and South, and we're asking for volunteers to get in touch if they are interested in being trained to conduct speed checks on streets in your area.

The scheme aims to raise awareness of speeding within communities and the affects it has on the people who live there by providing education to drivers. Community Speed Watch will not be considered as enforcement.

Police will train volunteers to operate a speed gun and note down the details of speeding motorists. We will follow up by sending letters to the registered keepers of offending vehicles asking for their assistance in keeping speeds down in the local community. Repeat offenders could face targeted speed enforcement action by Nottinghamshire Police.

If you are interested in volunteering or would like to find out more, please contact csw@notts.police.uk
